PROF. BERNARD LAVENDA
I'm a retired full professor of chemical physics. My speciality is thermodynamics (all forms of it), but in later years I have become interested in cosmology. It all began with a visit from the late Peter T Landsberg who wanted to convince me there were no less than 8--yes--forms of thermodynamics. He did so so as to make "black hole " thermodynamics enter the scheme. In time I found that this was all a hoax; there is no such thing as black hole entropy.
In dealing with statistical thermodynamics, I had the opportunity to see the errors in Einstein's reasoning about black-body radiation, which I summarized in my book Statistical Physics. Little did I know that these errors in logic would carry over, to all places, his general theory of relativity. It is this topic to which I will dedicate the blog site.
